To help you prepare and feel your absolute best, here’s a simple guide with styling tips and a checklist for before the big day.


1. Clothing Tips

Keep it Simple: Solid colors work best. Avoid busy patterns, logos, or distracting prints unless we specifically discussed a bold look. 

Choose Timeless Pieces: Go for classic styles that won’t feel outdated when you look back at your photos. 

Coordinate, Don’t Match: If photographing with others, choose outfits that complement each other without being identical. 

Bring Options: Bring 2–3 outfit choices, including different textures (knits, denim, cotton) for variety. 

Fit Matters: Clothes that fit well (not too tight or too loose) always look better on camera. 

Consider Necklines: Depending on the mood of the shoot, simple necklines (scoop, V-neck, or off-shoulder) often photograph beautifully. 

Layer Up: Jackets, cardigans, and scarves add depth and variety. 

Shoes Matter: Don’t forget about shoes if they’ll show! Clean, simple footwear works best.

2. Hair and Makeup Tips 

Stay True to You: Aim for a polished version of your everyday look. Natural lively curls are great.

Professional Hair and Makeup (Optional but Recommended): It makes a difference, especially for close-ups. 

Avoid Major Changes: Don’t try a new haircut or experimental makeup right before the shoot. 

Touch Up Nails: Hands will likely be visible — neat nails (even natural) look great. Please avoid bright designs

Blot Away Shine: Bring powder or blotting papers if you tend to get shiny skin. 

Men: A fresh shave or well-groomed beard looks sharp.

3. Skin Care and Preps 

Hydrate: Drink plenty of water the day before and the morning of your session. 

Moisturize: Well-hydrated skin photographs beautifully. 

Sleep Well: A good night’s sleep really does make a difference. 

Avoid Tanning: Natural skin tones photograph best. Tanning can cause uneven tones in photos.

4. Personal Items to Bring 

• Hairbrush or comb 

• Lip balm and/or lipstick/gloss 

• Makeup for quick touch-ups 

• Comfortable shoes (especially if we’re walking to different locations) 

• Accessories (earrings, hats, light jewelry — simple is best) 

• A water bottle 

• Snacks if you’ll need energy

5. Mindset 

Trust the Process: Relax and enjoy! Natural, genuine expressions are always the most beautiful. 

Come a Little Early: It helps us start calm and stress-free.
